Voici ce que Brett en pense: What a surprise! Another big storm to talk about. I must admit, I like the winter and I love snowstorms, except when you have to drive in them, but I am ready for spring. I am just completely wiped out from these storms, this will certainly be a winter that I will never, ever forget! Right now, we have a fairly strong upper-level system over the southwestern United States which will lift out of the Southwest and into the southern Plains later Tuesday. Well out ahead of the actual storm there will be a band of light snow and rain spreading into southern and central Ontario during the day Tuesday, as moist air from the south is forced over the cold dome closer to the surface. Most of southwestern Ontario will just see some rain out of this initial band on Tuesday, but as you go north of Toronto, especially in the communities near Georgian Bay then up to North Bay and over to Ottawa we may see anywhere from 3-7 cm of snow Tuesday. The main storm begins to impact eastern Canada later Wednesday, Wednesday night and into Thursday with steadier forms of precipitation. By Thursday, latest indications are that the storm rapidly intensifies near Maine as a building block over southern Greenland forces all this energy into the storm. Conditions across eastern Quebec, including the Gaspe and into northern New Brunswick will quickly deteriorate Thursday with increasing wind and snow, perhaps creating some blizzard-like conditions. Most of southern New Brunswick through PEI and Nova Scotia should see rain out of this one, but it may briefly start out as snow. Here is a brief initial prelim of snowfall expectations for the main storm Wed/Thur....... Barrie, Ont.....2-5 cm Wed night Toronto, Ont...tr-3 cm Wed night Peterborough, Ont.....2-4 cm Wed night Ottawa, Ont.....6-10 cm Wed/Thur morn, some rain mixed in Wed. Pembroke, Ont....6-10 cm Cornwall, Ont....2-5 cm Wed night/Thur Montreal, Que....6-10 cm late Wed/Thur Sherbrooke, Que....9-15 cm late Wed/Thur night Quebec City, Que...15-25 cm late Wed to Thu night Mont Joli, Que.......20-30 cm Thur to Fri Fredericton, NB....5-8 cm Thu/Fri with rain in between Edmundston, NB.....25-35 cm Thu/Fri The higher elevations of southeastern Quebec should see a pretty good dump of snow out of this, but there may be a little sleet mixed in as well for a short time, depending on the exact track of the storm which could certainly change.
